FLOR Carpet Design Squares
FLOR is an innovative system of carpet squares that enables you to create custom rugs, runners and wall-to-wall carpet. Besides offering a number of beautiful and distinct designs, FLOR focuses on utilizing recycled fibers in their products. In fact, they have come up with some ingenious ways to keep many discarded products from ending up as trash– for example, they are now working with local partners from around the globe to turn discarded fishing nets into 100% recycled yarns for use in all new FLOR styles. They also offer a Return & Recycle Program to turn old FLOR into new products.

Natural Home Mood and Energy Enhancers
Change the feeling that you get from your space instantly and inexpensively with natural incense, smudge sticks and candles. For instance, Juniper Ridge offers high quality smudge sticks and  incense to invite good energy into your surroundings. Also, you can create the perfect mood with high-quality soy candles such as those from Soap and Paper Factory and Tru Melange. These amazing candles help you breathe easy knowing that you are burning a naturally scented, non-petroleum based candle – safe for you, your family, and the Earth.

Yardbirds are unique metal sculptures that are made from mostly scrap and recycled parts. These birds, critters, dogs and cats save rejected metal parts from ending up in a landfill and they beautify homes and yards everywhere. You’ll find wine caddies, flower pot holders, and dog and cat feeders designed to last for years to come and be conversation pieces that will keep your friends talking. We especially love the Junkyard Dog and Cat flower pot holders, which offer a whimsical and functional way to brighten up any outdoor or indoor living space.

DIY Clothespin Sunburst Mirror
With a few simple tools you can make a beautiful, eco-chic sunburst mirror for your bedroom. Not only is it an easy project to do at home, you can use the decorative clothespins for message boards or to make easy reminder magnets to stick to your fridge. Here is what you need:

Wooden clothespins – You can get large or small clothespins depending on the size of your mirror
Scraps of paper and/or food coloring dye and vinegar depending whether you are dying or putting paper on the clothespins or both
Exacto Knife
Decoupage glue (or gluestick)
Paintbrush (if you are using a gluestick you won’t need this)
Circular mirror

First, start with your clothespins. If you are dying them, heat up about 1/4 cup of vinegar, 1/4 cup of water and little bit of the food color. Bring to a slight simmer and then pour over the clothespins that you are using. You can use an old pillowcase to weigh them down in the dye solution. After about 30 minutes, remove them from the dye and let them dry on some paper towels. After they are dry, you can add the paper to accent the top of the pins. Cut the paper to about 4 inches by 1 inch and then use your paintbrush to apply the decoupage glue to the paper (or use your gluestick). After the paper is dry, use the exacto knife to trim the edges. Finally, arrange around the mirror to create a wonderful sunburst effect. Not only is the mirror beautiful, it enables you to upcycle household items by using them in new ways.
